Golden Tips Dianhong Jin Luo Black Snail Black Tea

A rich, full mouthfeel, Golden Snail Black Tea ( Hong Jin Luo is an excellent black tea form the Yunnan Province of China and is known for it's chocolate and molasses notes, with a characteristic malt finish. The name of this tea refers to the appearance of the dry tea leaves. Golden Snail tea is made from golden tips, which are rolled into spirals that look like tiny snails. This rolling process allows the tea leaves to unfurl slowly over the course of two to three steepings, giving this tea multiple high quality infusions, unlike many other black teas.
When brewed, these snails will unfurl, revealing the one bud and one leaf structure. The tea produces a medium-strength umber liquor with a somewhat savoury light scent reminiscent of rye bread and soy. It tastes very smooth and does not have any astringency. The flavour of this Golden Snail Black Tea is sweet and malty, very much like a freshly baked sweet bread, with notes of cocoa and molasses. There are bakey, biscuitty notes, and also liquorice, with great sweetness. It’s mouthfilling and has wonderful Yunnan character.
